It draws inspiration from the historic All-India Muhammadan Educational Conference of 1886 and its successor, the All India Muslim Educational Conference (AIMEC) of 1923.

A Legacy Reimagined for the Modern World

The original AIMEC played a critical role in shaping the educational system for Muslims during pre-partition India. After the separation of India and Pakistan, the continuity of this mission was disrupted. In 2022, IJSmart Publishing Company® reformed and reintroduced this historical mission as AWMEC, aiming to reconnect the global Muslim community with the original vision — but with a global and modern approach.

This initiative aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

Why Chiniot City?

The first-ever AWMEC was hosted in Chiniot City, Pakistan. The choice of Chiniot is deeply personal and symbolic. It is the hometown of Ms. Saba Malik, the Founder and CEO of IJSmart Publishing Company®.

Chiniot is an underdeveloped city that deserves attention, growth, and opportunity. Hosting the first AWMEC event there was Ms. Malik’s heartfelt effort to uplift her community, promote education, and inspire future generations from smaller cities to dream big and contribute globally.

Vision of AWMEC

Muslims hardly ever gathered at one platform to discuss a matter of mutual interest. Muslims never assembled after the “All-India Muhammadan Educational Conference” event at the local level. The AWMEC’22 vision is to gather all Muslims in one platform not only from cities, or provinces but from all over the world. All Muslims are encouraged to take part in this conference and discuss their ideas.
